Jade and Rose Quartz rolling is quickly becoming one of the hottest beauty trends. This tool is beneficial to all skin types, it is typically used to roll across the face and neck. Most of the rollers have a larger stone for the forehead, cheeks, jaw and neck area and a smaller stone for the more delicate eye area. This tool has recently gained popularity but it has actually been used for centuries in ancient Chinese medicine. The stones themselves have spiritual and balancing properties, and naturally cool and smooth the skin.
I am one of the lucky people who get “puffy face” easily. From traveling, drinking, looking at salt, pretty much anything will cause it <sigh>. So when I discovered rolling I was ecstatic simply for the de-puff factor. But there are actually many benefits, immediate and long term from rolling.
~Adds a sense of calmness and can help get a great nighttime routine set up
~Helps skincare products absorb better and penetrate deeper
~Promotes lymphatic drainage and toxin removal
~Improves blood circulation and skin tone
~Reduces puffiness and inflammation
~Reduce under eye puffiness and circles
Choosing between the Jade or Rose Quartz roller is a personal preference. I use and love both of them. Jade is the stone of eternal youth. It is said to help calm the nervous system and eliminate toxins. Rose Quartz is the stone of love. It is known to open the heart chakras, increase positive energy and increase self love.
First, don’t be intimidated, although there are ways that are most beneficial, there is not a “wrong” way to roll. There are two main focuses for rolling, lymphatic drainage and cellular benefits. You want to move in an upward motion as much as possible to get the best outcome for your skin and cells. You have two lymph drainage areas you will utilize, right around the ear area and at the base of your neck, near your collar bones. I also love to keep my rollers in the refrigerator for an extra boost of coolness. It is recommended to use a serum or moisturizer prior to, sometimes I roll with my Orgaid sheet mask on, and it is wonderful!
~Start with a clean face
~Apply serum or moisturizer
~Start at your neck, jawline or cheeks
~Roll in an upwards and outwards motion towards the the ears. Continue with broad strokes and gradually move up your face, over your lips, under your nose and from the bridge of your nose out to your ear. See diagram
~Roll on the forehead up and outwards and then down around your temples
~Use the smaller stone to roll around the delicate eye area. Below the eye roll towards the nose and above the eye roll outwards to the temples.
You can roll as much as you want! At least 3 to 4 times a week is recommended for best results. Some people prefer night and some the morning, both have great benefits. I do both depending on how my skin is acting. Most days I roll in the morning, especially if I am experiencing some puffiness. This is also one my travel must haves. The roller is lightweight and compact.
Whichever roller you choose, they add great skin health and emotional benefits in my opinion and I recommend them to all! If you have any specific questions email us. Happy rolling!
